Available Duo two-step authentication methods
Duo has a wide catalog of two-step authentication methods categorized into nine different groups. These are listed from most secure to least secure, according to Duo.
The first time you log into an application, Duo will automatically prompt you for the most secure method registered to your account. For example, Duo considers platform authenticators and roaming authenticators to be the most secure authentication methods, so if you have set up either of these methods and the application allows their use, you'll automatically be prompted to use your platform authenticator (like Touch ID) or roaming authenticator (like security key).
Duo will remember the last successfully used authentication method for future logins to that application in that browser except the Duo Desktop app.
Note: EITS recommneds you set up more than one authentication method for your account. Platform authenticators only work for the device it was set up on (e.g. Face ID would not work to log in to a Windows computer).
