UGA Affiliates
Affiliate MyIDs are for users without a current UGA HR assignment who need access to UGA systems. Examples include Visitors, Vendors, Contractors, Consultants, Program Participants, and Visiting Researchers/Scholars.
Note: You do not need a MyID to access the UGA_Visitors_Wifi network.
Affiliations must be requested by a UGA sponsor (not the affiliate themselves) through:
Once an affiliation request has been submitted and the start and end dates are confirmed, EITS will provision a MyID for the affiliate on their start date via the Request MyID form. The request must come from the originating unit or sponsor. The MyID will automatically expire and become inactive on the designated end date of the affiliation.
For more details, refer to the UGA Faculty and Staff Guide (Affiliates).
Note: Sponsors who initiate affiliation requests are responsible for the users they sponsor. Affiliate users are subject to the same policies and procedures as UGA faculty, staff, and students, including compliance with UGA’s Information Security Policies, Regulations, and Guidelines. Affiliations may be revoked at any time if these standards are violated.
Retired UGA Employees
University of Georgia retirees may continue using their UGA MyID and UGAMail accounts after retirement, allowing ongoing access to select UGA services. To maintain account activity, retirees must log in at least once annually at ugamail.uga.edu. Accounts that remain inactive for 12 months or longer will be subject to deactivation. Prior to this, retirees will receive notification and have the opportunity to log in and prevent deactivation.
While retired faculty and staff may retain access to their MyID and UGAMail accounts, they are no longer eligible to use Office 365 applications and services associated with their @uga.edu email address. Additionally, mailbox storage will be reduced from 100 GB to 25 GB upon retirement. Retirees are encouraged to manage their mailbox size to avoid disruptions in sending or receiving emails due to storage limits.
To strengthen account security, Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is now required for retirees accessing UGAMail and Microsoft 365 products. This policy, effective March 7, 2025, ensures retirees benefit from the same level of protection as current students, faculty, and staff. retirees who do not access their MyID accounts for 12 months or more will have their accounts deactivated. Before deactivation, retirees will receive advance notifications. To keep your MyID and UGAMail active, simply log in when prompted—this will ensure your account remains excluded from the deactivation process.
