Why can’t I access certain Google applications?
If you see the message: "We are sorry, but you do not have access to (Google application). Please contact your Organization Administrator for access.”
This means the application is not enabled for UGA’s Google Workspace environment.
What you can do:
- Use the application with a personal Gmail account.
- Contact your department or IT support if you believe access is needed for your work.
Can I get my Google Drive quota increased?
Google Drive storage cannot be increased for individual accounts.
UGA is allocated 100TB of shared storage, which is used across more than 90,000 active accounts. (100TB = 100,000GB)
Options if you need more space:
If you require more space in Google Drive, Shared Drives are available for purchase.
What happens to my Google Workspace account when I leave UGA?
Your account is tied to your MyID status:
- Your account remains active while your MyID is active
- When your MyID is disabled, you lose access to Google Workspace
- After 30 days, your account and all files are permanently deleted

Does Google Workspace include Gmail and Calendar?
No. UGA does not use Google for email or calendar services.
Instead, UGA provides:

Does Google Workspace include Google Scholar?
Google Scholar Profiles are not supported within UGA’s Google Workspace environment.
Recommended approach: Use a personal @gmail.com account to manage your Google Scholar profile so you retain access if you leave UGA.
How to create or manage a Google Scholar profile
- Log into your personal @gmail.com account
- Go to: https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=new_profile&hl=en
- Complete the profile form
- Enter your UGA email address for verification
- Click the verification link sent to your @uga.edu email
