Note: PAWS-Secure or eduroam wireless networks are only available to UGA students, faculty, staff and others with a valid MyID. If you do not have a MyID and password, please follow the instructions for connecting to the UGA_Visitors_Wifi.
To connect, click the Wi-Fi icon in the top right corner of your screen, then click Other Networks. Select the desired wireless network from the drop-down menu: PAWS-Secure or eduroam.
A new window will appear asking you to enter your username and password. The credentials you will enter will depends on the network you choose.
- PAWS-Secure: In the username field, enter your MyID. In the password field, enter your MyID password.
- eduroam: In the username field enter your MyID with "@uga.edu" behind it. (Ex: MyID@uga.edu). In the password field, enter your MyID password.
If your credentials are accurate, you should be connected.
Wireless Troubleshooting
If you experience issues connecting your device to PAWS-Secure or eduroam, follow the steps below.
Forget the Network
Click the WiFi icon in the top right corner of your screen, then select WiFi Settings.
Click the three dots next to name of the WiFi network, then click Forget this Network.
Delete WiFi Profile
Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen and select System Settings.
Scroll down and select Privacy and Security on the left-hand side of the window. Then select Profiles.
Under Profiles, scroll down until you see Wireless Settings for Mac.
Select Wireless Settings for Macs, then select the minus sign at the bottom of the window to remove it from the list. Note: If your device is managed by the University of Georgia or another entity, you may not be able to delete the profile.
Attempt to reconnect to PAWS-Secure or eduroam by following the steps for connecting above.
Check IPv4 configuration
Select the WiFi icon in the top right corner of your screen, then WiFi Settings.
In the search bar on the left-hand side of the window, type TCP/IP. Then click the search result for TCP/IP.
Make sure Configure IPv4 has Using DHCP selected.
Check the Encryption Settings
Select the WiFi icon in the top right corner of your screen, then WiFi Settings.
In the search bar on the left-hand side of the window, type 802.1X. Then click the search result for 802.1X (Network).
Verify that PEAP is the only protocol enabled. Then try forgetting the network and reconnecting.
Clean up cluttered network settings
Click on the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner of your screen to open Spotlight Search. Search for Keychain Access.
In the upper right hand corner of Keychain Access application, search for PAWS-Secure or eduroam, depending on the network you are connecting to.
Delete any related entries.
Reboot your Mac.
