NotebookLM is Google’s AI-powered assistant that leverages generative AI and large language models to help users organize information and improve productivity. It allows users to upload sources and interact with them directly, asking contextual questions, summarizing key points, and referencing materials through source-grounded responses. NotebookLM is particularly useful for tasks such as reviewing course materials, preparing research, creating study guides, and drafting content based on uploaded documents.

What are some ways users are leveraging NotebookLM?
-
Generate Source Grounded Insights: NotebookLM’s source-grounded responses mean that all answers are based solely on the documents you upload—nothing is pulled from outside sources. This ensures accurate, relevant, and citation-backed responses tied directly to your material.
-
Create outlines: Draft outlines for an array of content, including things like presentations, essays and more. NotebookLM will generate things such as suggestions on what topics to cover and evidence to support those points.
It is important to identify what constitutes appropriate use of generative AI tools in your work and learning environments at UGA.
