How to Log In using ArchPass, powered by Duo

There are multiple options for using ArchPass two-step login, powered by Duo. You can choose from:

  • Push notification using the Duo Mobile app
  • Phone call
  • Passcodes generated by the Duo Mobile app
  • Passcodes sent via text message
  • Passcodes generated by a Hardware Token
  • Bypass code from EITS Help Desk

Before you can use ArchPass, you must first enroll a device (Phone or tablet).

To log in to an ArchPass-protected system you will first enter your UGA MyID and password. Click Login. Then you will see the Duo authentication screen.

The prompt will automatically pick the most secure option for authentication based on your enrolled devices. Select Other Options to choose which authentication method you would like to use.

After completing your authentication, you will be asked whether you trust the browser. Click Yes, trust browser to bypass to Duo verification prompt for 30 days on the same device and browser. This feature requires browser cookies.

Push Notification—Duo Mobile App

Click Duo Push.

Duo will send a push notification to the corresponding mobile device.

Open the Duo Mobile app on your device and enter the 4-digit code in the provided text boxes.

After entering the code, tap Verify.

If you receive a push notification that you did not initiate, tap I'm not logging in, then tap Yes on the Was this a suspicious login? screen.  You should then reset your MyID password.

Phone Call

Click Phone Call.

Duo will call the number you enrolled. Answer the call on your phone and press 1 to approve the login.

If you receive a Duo authentication phone call that you did not initiate, press * to report fraud. You should then reset your MyID password.

Generate a Passcode with the Duo Mobile App

Click Duo Mobile passcode.

You do not need Wi-Fi or a cellular connection to generate a passcode with the Duo Mobile app.

Open the Duo Mobile app on your device. In the app, click on Show to the right of Passcode.

A six-digit passcode should now be displayed in the app. If you need a new code, click on Refresh Passcode.

Go back to the Duo login page and input the passcode and click Verify.

Get Passcodes Via Text Message

Click Text message passcode.

Duo will send a text message with a passcode to the device you enrolled.

Enter the passcode from the text message and click Verify.

Generate Passcode via Hardware Token

The EITS Help Desk offers hardware tokens that produce Duo passcodes. These tokens do not require any cell service or Wi-Fi to use. These are ideal for international travel.

If you would like a hardware token, please stop by the Help Desk with your UGA Card to add one to your account.

To use the token, click Hardware token.

Press the button on the hardware token to generate a code. Read the code from the token and type it into the Passcode box. Then click Verify.

Use Bypass Code

After calling the EITS Help Desk and getting a temporary code for Duo, select Bypass code.

Enter the code that the EITS Help Desk gave in the text box. Then click Verify.
