Enabling forwarding will cause all incoming messages to your UGAMail account to be sent to the account of your choice. This is helpful if you manage multiple accounts.
Note: It is recommended that UGA employees DO NOT forward their UGAMail to an email address not provided by the University of Georgia. Please see the official policy regarding the Open Records Act and campus email. Faculty and Staff must elect to retain a copy on the server.
How to Set up Forwarding using the Forwarding Feature in Outlook
Log into UGAMail on the web at ugamail.uga.edu.
Click on Settings (gear icon) in the upper-right corner.
Select Mail from the Settings list of applications, the select Forwarding in the second column.
Check the box for Enable Forwarding and enter the email address you want your mail forwarded to. You can also choose to keep a copy of your forwarded messages in your UGAMail inbox by checking the box, Keep a copy of forwarded messages.
Then click Save.
How to Set Up Forwarding Using an Inbox Rule
Log into UGAMail on the web at ugamail.uga.edu.
Click on Settings (gear icon) in the upper-right corner.
Select Mail from the Settings list of applications, the select Rules in the second column. To add a rule for forwarding, click Add New Rule.
Name your rule.
Under Add a Condition, scroll to the bottom of the list and select Apply to all messages.
Under Add an action select Redirect to. To the right of Redirect to another field will pop up. Enter the email address to which you wish to forward all your messages.
Click Save at the bottom-right of the window once you have the email address entered.
A copy of every message will also be saved in UGAMail. If you don't want to save the original messages in UGAMail after forwarding, then do the following:
Under Add An Action, click Add Another Action.
Under Organize, choose Delete.
Click Save.
Your new rule will appear at the top of your Rules.
