Microsoft Planner is a project management web app that allows users to create project plans, form groups, and assign tasks to members of those groups. Groups can organize, assign, and collaborate on tasks; set due dates; update statuses; and share files. Visual dashboards and email notifications keep everyone in the group informed of progress.
Planner is free to UGA students, faculty, and staff and is accessible through your web-based UGAMail.
With Planner, users can:
- Create a plan
- Form a group
- Assign tasks and sort tasks
- Set deadlines for tasks
- Attach files, photos, and links to a project
- Share and collaborate on files for the plan in OneDrive
- View progress on a plan
Note: All plans and groups are automatically assigned a group email address for collaboration (Ex: projectname@groups.uga.edu). Users have the option to pick the email address for their plan or group. However, EITS reserves the right to delete and disable any project/group email addresses that are deemed inappropriate or in conflict with other university colleges, departments, and functions.
Microsoft offers troubleshooting documentation on its website.
