Listserv is an email management system designed to send messages to groups of people via email. At UGA, we use LISTSERV provided by L-soft to manage our email lists.
LISTSERV offers:
- Moderated lists
- Ability for users to self-subscribe or unsubscribe to lists
- Ability to include non-University of Georgia subscribers
- Online archives of messages posted to lists, if selected
- Ability for list owners to manage their lists
- Ability to share your list publicly, if selected

Who can access LISTSERV?
Anyone can be a subscriber to a list, including people not associated with the University of Georgia. UGA students, faculty, staff and recognized student organizations may request to create and own list on the LISTSERV system. LISTSERV allows list owners to manage their lists, including adding or removing subscribers, via the UGA LISTSERV website listserv.uga.edu or by email.
How do I access LISTSERV?
To request a list as a list owner, follow the instructions on our Knowledge Base.
To subscribe to a list, send an email to listserv@uga.edu. Put the following information in the body of your email message:
- Subscribe ListName
- Your First Name
- Your Last Name
An email will be sent to the email address you provided for a subscription request. Click on the first link in the email to confirm your subscription to that requested list.
