Can everyone see my calendar?
Only individuals within UGA can see your calendar. By default, they can view your free/busy times only. Details such as subject, location, and attendees are not visible.
You can change these permissions using Outlook:
Note: This does not apply to individuals with FERPA restrictions, who are hidden from the Global Address List (GAL).
Can I have more than one calendar?
Yes. You can create and manage multiple calendars, and each one can be shared independently with different permission levels.
How do I request a resource calendar?
To request a resource calendar (such as rooms, equipment, or vehicles), use the Calendar Resource Request form.
Are there any differences between student and faculty/staff calendars?
No. UGAMail calendars function the same for all users.
With the appropriate permissions:
- Faculty and staff can schedule meetings with students
- Students can schedule resource calendars
Why can't I find someone in the Global Address List (GAL)?
They may have a FERPA restriction enabled. To share your calendar with them, enter their full UGA email address instead of searching by name.
Why am I not visible in the Global Address List (GAL)?
You may have a FERPA restriction enabled through Athena. After removing it, you should appear in the GAL within one day.
If the issue persists, please contact the EITS Help Desk.
How do I create a recurring meeting?
In Outlook on the web or Outlook for Mac: Select New Event, then set up your meeting details. Next to the Time and Date, choose how often you want the meeting to recur.

In Outlook for Windows: Select New Appointment, then choose the Recurrence option to set the meeting frequency.

Why is my calendar not updating in Outlook?
If your calendar appears up to date on the web but not in Outlook, your Outlook profile may be corrupted.
Please contact the EITS Help Desk for assistance in creating a new profile.
