EITS offers three different options of Institutional File Storage (IFS) services to the University of Georgia community on a cost-recovery basis; each designed to meet the diverse business needs of the campus.
- Intended for use by University of Georgia units needing to store and share files within the same business unit or collaborators in other University of Georgia units.
- Minimum required initial purchase of 50GB
- Increases or decreases can be requested in 50GB increments
- Service cancellations require 90-day notice from the client
- Backup restorations will incur additional charges at EITS hourly rate
- Data migrations performed by EITS to and from this service will incur additional charges
- Intended for use by University of Georgia units needing to store and work with restricted data within the same business unit or partners in other University of Georgia units.
- Given the nature of data being worked on within this service, access will be restricted to SecureVDI sessions that can ensure data exfiltration requirements can be satisfied.
- Minimum required initial purchase of 50GB
- Increases and decreases can be requested in 50GB increments
- Clients must also procure and utilize SecureVDI instances to access this service
- Service cancellations require a 90-day notice from the client
- Backup restorations will incur additional charges at EITS hourly rate
- Data migrations performed by EITS to and from this service will incur additional charges
- Specifically intended for use by the University of Georgia research community.
- A backup and archival storage target for research data.
- It is not designed for active collaboration of shared data, as it has a different underlying infrastructure and backup schedule than the other two IFS services.
- Minimum required buy-in purchase of 1TB
- Increases and decreases can be requested in 1TB increments
- Service cancellations require a 90-day notice from the client
- Backup restorations will incur additional charges at EITS hourly rate
- Data migrations performed by EITS to and from this service will incur additional charges
