EITS offers a virtual server hosting service for University of Georgia faculty and staff who need to run a server but do not have the resources to maintain a physical one. Clients can customize this cost recovery service to comply with applicable laws, policies, and guidelines provided by external partners.
EITS offers three base models: a small virtual machine (VM), a medium virtual machine and a large virtual machine.
- Designed for basic applications and services (such as simple LAMP servers)
- 1 vCPU (virtual CPU cores)
- 8GB RAM (virtual memory)
- 100 GB HDD (virtual storage)
- Standard back-ups available at an additional cost
- Additional memory, computing power or storage can be added for an additional cost
- Clients can request the setup and of a load-balanced Virtual IP (VIP) at an additional cost
- Service cancellations require 90-day notice from the client
- Our most popular option, configured to run an array of applications and services
- 2 vCPU (virtual CPU cores)
- 12GB RAM (virtual memory)
- 100 GB HDD (virtual storage)
