The Network Service Program (NSP) will replace the Network Support Partnership model in FY27 to provide a pricing and billing model for network support services for UGA departments. Under this new model, the fee calculations are based on a unit's full-time equivalent (FTE) employee count. The fee includes maintenance and coverage of wired and wireless services.
Services Provided
Wired Network Services: NSP wired network support includes management and operational support for University-owned wired network infrastructure extending from the campus network edge to the active network wall jack. Support boundaries, operational response targets, and maintenance responsibilities for both EITS and the client are further defined within the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Wireless Network Services: Wireless NSP support includes all wired NSP services in addition to support for University-managed wireless infrastructure. Wireless support boundaries, operational response targets, and maintenance responsibilities for EITS and the client are further defined within the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
How is my fee for services determined?
Each unit’s fee is based on Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) counts derived from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) data. These counts are weighted, based on a job code's typical need for services.
This model accounts for both administrative and academic units, simplifies cost tracking, and supports a more equitable distribution of network service costs across the institution. Unlike previous support models, the Network Service Program includes both wired and wireless network services, as explained in the Service Level Agreement.
