How to Submit an Application Consent Request

In Microsoft applications like Outlook, Word, Teams, and others, some third-party apps require special permissions before they can connect to your school or work account. Examples include Calendly, Zoom for Outlook, and Zoho CRM for Outlook. To help keep your account secure, these apps must go through an approval process before access is granted.

  • You cannot approve the app yourself.
  • You need to submit a request for the app you want to use.

What Will You See?

When you try to add an application in Microsoft 365 that requires additional permissions, you'll see a pop-up message stating that admin approval is needed. This is expected behavior.

Step 1: Submit the Admin Consent Request

  1.  Add a reason for your request.
    1. Example: “Needed for class project” or “Required for research.”
  2. In the pop-up, click Request Approval.
    1. This sends a request to our IT team.
  3. Submit the request.
    1. After clicking “Request Approval,” a confirmation message— “Request Submitted”—will appear in the pop-up. This indicates that your request has been successfully sent.

Step 2: Submit a UGA Mail Help Request

After you submit the admin consent request, you must also notify the UGA Mail team so we can track and process your request.

  1. Go to the UGA Mail Help Request page https://uga.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/3190/eitsclientportal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=54074.
  2. In your request, include:
    1. The name of the app you are trying to use.
    2. A note that says:
“I received an Admin Consent pop-up and have submitted the request.”
  3. Submit the help request.

What Happens Next?

  • Our IT team will review your request with the Security team.
  • We’ll email you once the app is approved or denied.
  • If approved, we’ll provide instructions for accessing the app.
  • If denied, we will provide information on why your request was denied.

Important Notes

  • Do not try to bypass this process. The app won’t work without approval.
  • Approval times may vary depending on the app and security requirements.
