Qualtrics FAQs

I need to conduct a survey with a large number of respondents. What should I do?

If you plan to conduct a survey with more than 10,000 email respondents, please contact EITS Survey Tools at surveytools@uga.edu a month in advance of when you plan to conduct the survey. EITS will work with you to learn more about the timing of your survey and will submit required information on your behalf to Qualtrics. Qualtrics requires that any surveys with more than 10,000 email respondents have approval before distribution. This helps to ensure emails associated with the survey are considered valid and not flagged as spam. The process also helps EITS coordinate large surveys and ensure multiple large surveys are not scheduled to begin on the same day.

What is available in Research Core Licensing?

Features included in Research Core licensing:

  • Unlimited Emails: To prevent the likelihood of spamming, the default limit of emails sent within 7 days is 25,000, but this may be temporarily increased upon request by emailing surveytools@uga.edu.  Please allow five business days for changes.
  • StatsiQ: Integration to seamlessly push data from Qualtrics to Tableau dynamically.
  • Tableau Integration: Integration to seamlessly push data from Qualtrics to Tableau dynamically.
  • Salesforce Integration: Integration to push data from Qualtrics to SalesForce and to trigger surveys based off of work flow conditions in SalesForce.  SalesForce is a separate product and must be purchased directly from Qualtrics by the department.
  • Offline Surveys: Used to collect data offline.  Researchers will download surveys locally onto ipads or tablets and then take those surveys in areas where there is no internet.
  • Rest API: Used to connect servers and databases to Qualtrics.  Used for pushing data from Qualtrics and to trigger work flows that would create a survey distribution.
  • Text SMS Surveys: Used to send surveys out via Text.  Users can text survey links or can send a survey a question at a time in traditional text format.
  • File Upload: Used to attach forms or other documents to a survey.  Ex. sign up sheets, proof of residents, resumes, assignments.
  • SignatureUsed to provide a signature as a survey response.  Usually used on ipads or tablets where respondents can sign with their finger to provide e-consent.
  • HighlightingAllows respondents to highlight sections of text for feedback purposes.
  • Adobe AnalyticsAllows researchers the capture and run Adobe Analytics from a given website
  • TextiQ: Advanced text and qualitative analysis for getting stats and analyzing text and comments from surveys.
