Remote Access VPN FAQs

I am unable to check the VPN when installing Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client on a Mac. What should I do?

First, double check the VPN isn't already installed on your Mac.  It can be found in the Launchpad if it is installed.

Otherwise, open the program Terminal from Launchpad, type the following, and then hit Enter.

sudo pkgutil --forget com.cisco.pkg.anyconnect.vpn

You will be prompted for the computer's password.

Enter your password. Note: It will remain blank as you type.

Hit Enter again and it will run. Once done, try installing the VPN again.

When I try to start the VPN, I get an error message about other users being logged in.

On Windows machines, you may see this message if the switch users feature has been used. You will need to log out of the other user account, or restart the machine to force log out of all accounts before the VPN will allow the connection.
