Smart TVs and Apple TVs are unable to connect to the wireless networks on campus, but wired connections are available in all the residence halls.
Below are the steps to connect your Smart TV to the wired network.
You will need a Cat-5e or Cat-6 Ethernet cable. Below is an example of an Ethernet cable.
Note: If you live in Russell Hall, you will need to request a port activation. You will receive an email letting your know your port has been activated. Then you can proceed to the first step.
How to Connect a Smart TV to UGA's wired network
- Find the Wired/LAN MAC address. You will need this when you register the device on UGA's device registration portal. Here's how to find your device's MAC address.
- Register your Smart TV on UGA's Device Registration Portal at drp.uga.edu. You may need to complete the registration on another device, such as a laptop or phone.
- Connect the Smart TV to the wall port using a Ethernet cord.
If you still have issues connecting, please submit a Housing Network Support ticket.
