   Overview

In this article, you will learn about the search functionality that can be found in UGA Financial Management, specifically focusing on the Global Search Bar.  Within the Fluid application in UGA Financial Management, you can search for pages in the system to which you have access.

This article will also refer to the "Classic" and "Fluid" interfaces in the system. See the articles below for more information on the differences between the two.

The Global Search Bar:

Global Search can be found throughout the system on the Classic and Fluid application and homepages.  The Global Search is open by default in many Fluid homepages, regardless of device.  If you are using a device in portrait mode, you may need to click the Global Search button in the banner at the top of your screen to see the Global Search Bar.  See an image of the Global Search Bar below.

As you will see in the instructions below, your search results will show you information on where the search will take you below the name of the page in the search results. Any search result with "Fluid Structure Content" below it will take you to a page in the Fluid interface. Anything else will take you to a Classic page.

Global Search bar

  2. Find the Global Search Bar on the Employee Self Service Page.

2. Now that you have navigated to the Employee Self Service, locate the Global Search Bar at the top of the page.

  3. Add Keyword to Begin a Search.

3. Once you locate the Global Search Bar at the top of the screen, type in a keyword to find important information in the Search bar.

In this example, type "Wallet" to view the results of this search.  You will see the results are giving you two options of "My Wallet". As mentioned above, the first option with the sub information of "Fluid Structure Content" will take you to the My Wallet functionality in the Fluid Interface. The other option will take you to the Classic pages.

  4. Search for More Information.

4. For another example of what can be searched for within the Global Search Bar, begin typing "Payment Request" in the bar to see what results come up.  Again, notice that the search can result in recently viewed items and suggestions based on the information entered.  This search only displays suggestions.

Please see the table below for a guide to the icons and features of the Global Search Bar.

For exploring more on your own, you can also search for, "Wallet", "Business", "Query Viewer", "Delegate", and "Budget".  Thinking through your business process, you can quickly search for the most pertinent keywords to your processes and day-to-day operations.
