While the Fluid interface is more for the casual user, many users who work in the UGA Financial Management System find that they do much of their work in the Classic interface on pages that are not included in the Fluid interface.
The Class interface uses a cascading menu system. Folders provide organization and allow a drill down to the components which contain data for modification or review.
In this article, you will learn how the menu system works in the Classic interface.
First, log into the UGA Financial Management System.
Use the NavBar navigation to move to the Classic menu.
Click the NavBar button.
Navigation in the Classic interface begins with the Main Menu.
Click the Main Menu link.
You can rearrange your menu into an ascending or descending alphabetical sort to help you find menu items.
Click the Sort dropdown menu.
The menu is displayed as a series of cascading folders. Folders are organizational and clicking on a folder opens the next options in the menu navigation.
Click the appropriate folder.
Example shown here: Employee Self Service folder.
The menus cascade until you reach the component level. Only items with an icon like this can be opened for data entry or reviewing.
Click the appropriate icon.
Example shown here: View icon.
When you click on a component, the search page for that component will appear and allow you to search for the records to view or modify.
The Home link on a Classic page returns you to the Fluid Homepage.
