Graduate Tuition Waiver Requirements

   Overview

This article explains the requirements to receive a graduate tuition waiver. Below, we cover the waiver requirements for fall/spring waivers and for summer waivers.

Tuition Waiver Requirements (Fall and Spring)

Students who meet all of the below requirements are eligible for a fall or spring tuition waiver:

1. Enrollment: Must be enrolled in at least 12 hours of graduate course work.

2. Employment: Must be employed in a graduate assistantship position (GA, GRA, GTA, GLA) between 13 hours and 20 hours per week.

3. Duration: Must be hired by the first day of class and work assignment cannot end earlier than the last day of class.

Note: Failure to work for the period of time covered by your program’s semester or failure to maintain 12 graduate credit hours for fall and spring and 9 graduate credit hours for summer will result in the removal of the tuition waiver and reversal of the tuition reduction. Ensuring that the student works the required number of hours associated with their assistantship and maintains full-time enrollment is the shared responsibility of the academic program, the hiring unit, and the student.
