Changing the Location of a Cage Card (Transferring Facility)

   Overview   

The Animal Operations Portal allows you to create a location change request to schedule the transfer of cage cards and their respective animals.

Once the cage cards are received by the receving facility, a researcher or PI from the receiving facility will need to go in and update the cage card's location in the ANOPS Portal.

   Instructions   

  1. Step 1: On the Animal Operations Portal homepage, click the IACUC link.
  2. Step 2: The IACUC page is displayed.
  3. Step 3: The selected protocol's Details page is displayed.
  4. Step 4: The Transport Basic Information page is displayed.
  5. Step 5: Select the appropriate business manager from the list.
  6. Step 6: To select the desired location, click the  [...]  button next to the Target Facility field.
  7. Step 7: A list of Facility Projects is displayed.
  8. Step 8: With the appropriate facility selected, click the OK button.
  9. Step 9: Select the calendar icon under the Requested Transport Date to select a date.
  10. Step 10: Select the appropriate date.
  11. Step 11: With the requested information entered, click the Continue button.
  12. Step 12: The Select Cage Cards page is displayed.
  13. Step 13: The Cage Card Projects window is displayed.
  14. Step 14: With the appropriate cage card(s) selected, click the OK button.
  15. Step 15: Next, select True or False to the question.
  16. Step 16: Enter any additional information in the comments field.
  17. Step 17: Once you have reviewed the information, click the Save Draft button.
  18. Step 18: The requested transport summary page is displayed.
  19. Step 19: Review the information in the pop up screen.

In this article, you will learn the steps to submit a transport request in the Animal Operations Portal for a change of location.

On the Animal Operations Portal homepage, click the IACUC link.

The IACUC page is displayed.

Select the appropriate Animal Use Protocol (AUP).

Example shown here: click the Student Account Protocol link.

The selected protocol's Details page is displayed.

Click the Change Location button to initiate the change in location.

The Transport Basic Information page is displayed.

Click the Departmental Business Manager drop-down list.

Select the appropriate business manager from the list.

To select the desired location, click the  [...]  button next to the Target Facility field.

A list of Facility Projects is displayed. Click the appropriate facility from the list.

With the appropriate facility selected, click the OK button.

To choose a date for the transport to occur, select the calendar icon under the Requested Transport Date to select a date.

Select the appropriate date.

With the requested information entered, click the Continue button.

The Select Cage Cards page is displayed.

Click the [...] button next to the Cage Cards to Transport field.

The Cage Card Projects window is displayed. Click the Card ID(s) you want to select.

With the appropriate cage card(s) selected, click the OK button.

Next, select True or False to the question.

Enter any additional information in the comments field.

Once you have reviewed the information, click the Save Draft button.

The requested transport summary page is displayed.

Once you have reviewed the information for accuracy, click the Submit button.

Review the information in the pop up screen.

If you are ready to submit, click the OK button.
