You will use UGAJobs to evaluate (update) a position. Reasons for the update include reclassifying an occupied position, reclassifying a vacant position, updating employee position description, replacing an employee, replacing a supervisor, or updating budget details.
Once submitted, the request goes to the Approver.

In this article, you will learn the steps to evaluate a position.
Note: Data has been masked or changed to protect employee information.
First, log into UGAJobs.
On the UGAJobs homepage, click the Position Descriptions link.
Click the Staff link.
The Staff Position Descriptions page is displayed.
Select the appropriate position.

Click the Evaluate Position Description link.
A confirmation page is displayed with a note that the request will lock with position description from other updates until the request has been completed.
When you are ready to begin, click the Start button.
The Position Justification page is displayed.
In the Reason for Position Update section, click the appropriate option. You can select multiple reasons.

Enter the appropriate information into the Justification of Need field.

Click the Next >> button.
The Classification page is displayed. You can view the Classification Details relating to this position.
Scroll down to click the Filter these results link.
The Search Classifications window will appear.
Enter search information into the Search Keyword field.

Click the Search button.
Select the appropriate Classification Title.

Click the Save button.
You are returned to the Classification Details page.
The Position Details page is displayed. The first section provides information on the Seated Employee, if relevant. The second section lists the Position Information.
In the Position Information section, enter the appropriate Working Title into the field.

Click the Pay Group drop-down list.
Select an appropriate Pay Group from the list.

Enter the appropriate information into the Names/Titles of Employees Supervised field.

You can edit the FTE field, if needed.
Next, enter the appropriate information into the Standard Hours field.

Click the Standard Work Period drop-down list.
Select the appropriate list item.

Click the Job Indicator drop-down list.

After completing all the required sections, click the Next >> button.
The Duties/Responsibilities page is displayed.
Enter the appropriate information into the Duties/Responsibilities field.

To add additional Duties/Responsibilities for the position, click the Add Duties/Responsibilities Entry button.

Note: You can continue to add additional duties/responsibilities as needed. The total percentage of time across all duties should total 100.
Enter the appropriate information into the Major Changes field.
Additional information on this field is located below the field.
Enter the appropriate information into the List similar positions at UGA field.
You should include the name, title, and department.
Click the Does this person meet the minimum qualifications of the position? drop-down list.
Select an appropriate response.

After all the required sections have been completed, click the Next >> button.
The Budget Position Information page is displayed, listing the PeopleAdmin Position Number, and the PeopleSoft Position Number.
Click the Position Supervisor link.
The Position Supervisor page is displayed. This page provides detailed information about the selected supervisor for the position.
Click the Position Documents link.
The Position Documents page is displayed.
To upload a new file, click the Upload New link under the Actions list.

The Upload a Current Organizational Chart page is displayed.
You can add a description of the file, then browse and upload the designated file.
Click the Submit button after uploading a file.
When you are finished, click the Back button on your browser.
Click the Position Request Summary link.
When you are ready to submit the request, click the Take Action on Position Request button.
Click the Submit (move to Approver) link.
Click the Submit (move to Approver) drop-down list.
Select an appropriate Approver for the position.
With the appropriate Approver selected, click the Submit button.
The Position Summary page is displayed. A notice appears at the top of the page to indicate that the request was successfully transitioned, and the Current Status is updated to "Approver".
