You can create a new student position in UGAJobs. When complete, the request will be submitted to the Approver.

On the UGAJobs Positions homepage, click the Position Descriptions link.
To create a position for students, click the Grad/Research/Student/Temp link.
The Grad/Research Position Descriptions page is displayed.
Click the Create New Position Description button.
The New Position Description page is displayed. You can add detailed information regarding the position. Be as specific as possible.
Note: The asterisk sign in red next to the section title means that the section is required. Without filling out the required sections, you will not be able to proceed to the next step.
Enter appropriate information into the Working Title field.

Click the Major Unit drop-down list.
Select the appropriate Major Unit for the position.

Click the Division drop-down list.
Select the Division for this position
HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISON (G050) is selected for this article.
Click the Department drop-down list.
Select an appropriate Department.

Click the Start Position Request button.
The Position Justification page is displayed.
Click the Create New Position option.
Enter appropriate information into the Justification of Need field.
Click the Next >> button.
The Classification page is displayed. A list of classifications are shown.
Click the Filter these results link to narrow down the classifications shown.
The Search Classifications window is displayed.
Enter appropriate information into the Search Keyword field.

Click the Search button.
Under the Ad hoc Search tab, select the appropriate OneUSG Connect Job Title option.

Click the Save button.
The Classification page is displayed. This page provides the classification details of the position.
After reviewing the information, click the Next >> button.
The Position Details page is displayed. You will add detailed information regarding the position. Fields with the red asterisk sign are required.
Note: Since you are in the process of creating a new position, the Seated Employee Information fields are blank. If you modify an existing position, you can find the information about Seated Employee Information on this page.
Enter the appropriate information into the Campus Address field.

Click the Full Time/Part Time drop-down list.
Select an appropriate list item.

Enter or select the appropriate Effective Date.
Note: The Effective Date is the date when the position is actually available. By this time, all steps necessary for hiring a new employee, including a hiring proposal, should be completed.

Click the Joint Appointment drop-down list and select Yes or No.
Enter the appropriate information into the Position Summary field. Additional information about this field can be found under the field.
Enter the appropriate information into the Physical Demands field.
Enter the appropriate information into the Impact and Influence field. Additional information is located below the field.
Click the Does this position have financial responsibility? drop-down list.
Select an appropriate response.

Click the Does this position require a P-Card? drop-down list.
Note : A purchasing card (P-Card) is a VISA card issued by Bank of America, who holds the statewide contract for the purchasing card program in the state of Georgia. A P-Card can only be assigned to a permanent (regular) employee of the University and can be used to purchase goods and services valued at $2,499 or less (http://busfin.uga.edu/procurement/p_card/).
Note: The series of questions related to the p-card aims to determine what type of background check is required for the position.
Click the Is having a P-Card an essential function of this position? drop-down list.
Click the Is driving a requirement of this position? drop-down list.
After completing all required sections, click the Next >> button.
The Duties/Responsibilities page is displayed. You can add duties and responsibilities that the position requires.
Enter the appropriate information into the Duties/Responsibilities field.

To add additional Duties/Responsibilities for the position, click the Add Duties/Responsibilities Entry button.

Turn on the Remove Entry? option if you wish to remove a duty that you have entered.
You can add additional duties/responsibilities as needed
Click the Does this person meet the minimum qualifications of the position? drop-down list.
Click Position is currently vacant .
The Budget Position Information is displayed.
Note: The information on this page will be auto-populated. The information can be edited only by Central HR.
Click the Position Supervisor link.
Read the information displayed about adding a supervisory position.
To locate the position, click the Filter these results link.
The Search Position Descriptions window is displayed.
Enter the name of the supervisor into the Search Keyword field.
Select the appropriate Position Type to refine the search results.
Click the Position Type list.
Select the appropriate list item.

Under the Ad hoc Search tab, click the appropriate search result.
The Position Supervisor page is updated to display the selected supervisor for the position.
You can attach appropriate documents to the position if needed on this page.
To review the information regarding the position, click the Position Request Summary link.
The New Position Description page is displayed.
Scroll down to view detailed information about this position.
Hover over the Take Action On Position Request button. Submit the position request to the appropriate next level in the workflow.
