Using the Paycheck Modeler (Non-Benefitted Employees)

   Overview   

In OneUSG Connect, you have access to a new feature called the Paycheck Modeler. With the paycheck modeler, you can determine what your take home pay would be if you adjusted your tax information. The paycheck modeler is a powerful tool to investigate your own what-if scenarios that impact your paycheck.

In this article, you will use the Paycheck Modeler to view potential changes to your paycheck. 

1. Step 1

First, log into OneUSG Connect.                         

From the Employee Self Service Homepage, click the Payroll tile.

Click the Paycheck Modeler tile.

Step 1 of 6 is displayed. In Step 1, you must review the Usage Terms and Conditions.

To proceed, click the Yes, I have reviewed and agree to the terms and conditions option.

After agreeing to the terms and conditions, click the Let's Get Started button.

Step 2 of 6 is displayed. This is the Earnings page where you can change the earnings amount by clicking the Edit icon.

When you are finished, click the Next button.

Step 3 of 6 is displayed. This is the Deductions page. If you have deductions, you will see them listed here.

You can click on the Edit (pencil) icon to adjust the amounts deducted from your checks.  You can also add new deductions by clicking on the Add Deductions button.

When you are finished, click the Next button.

Step 4 of 6 is displayed. This is the Taxes page. You can change your federal and/or state tax withholding information by clicking the Edit icons.

Example shown here: you will modify the federal tax withholding allowance.

Click the Edit button.

Example shown here: you want to add an additional allowance to your total federal tax allowances, for a total of 3 allowances. 

Click in the Withholding Allowances field.

Click the "x" in the Withholding Allowances field to clear the field.

Enter " 3 ."

Click the OK button.

When you are finished adjusting your tax withholdings, click the Next button.

Step 5 of 6 is displayed. This is the Calculate page where you can calculate your modeled check.

Click the Calculate My Modeled Check button.

A confirmation message appears.

Click the OK button.

Step 6 of 6 is displayed. This is the Results page where you can view the modeled check results and the modeled check ratio.

You can view your total earnings, taxes, deductions, and net pay in the Modeled Check Results box.

For additional gross earnings information, click the Details link.

Earnings details are displayed with any adjustments you made on the My Earnings page.

Click the Return  button.

For additional information regarding your taxes, click the Details link.

Tax details are displayed with any adjustments you made on the My Taxes page.

Click the Return button.

You can print the modeled check or print the changes you made.

On the right side, you will see a pie chart showing the percentage of your check that goes toward taxes and/or deductions as applicable.
