Applying Merit Increase: New Base Salary Target

   Overview   

You can add a merit increase to a position using a merit dollar target amount, a percent increase, or a new base salary target.

   Instructions   

  1. Step 1: Click the BUDDEV link in the Quick Links box.
  2. Step 2: Click the Salary link.
  3. Step 3: Click the Position Budgeting link.
  4. Step 4: Click the collapse pane arrow to the left of the Position Budgeting form.
  5. Step 5: Right-click the Merit % cell under the Salary tab.
  6. Step 6: Click the Merit Adjustments menu.
  7. Step 7: Click the Adjust % based on New Base Salary Target option.
  8. Step 8: Enter the new base salary into the Value field. 
  9. Step 9: Click the Launch button.
  10. Step 10: Click the OK button.
  11. Step 11: The information about the Merit % and the Merit Amount has been updated.

In this article, you will learn the steps to apply merit increase by adjusting the base salary in the UGA Budget Management System.

1. Step 1

First, log into the Budget Management System. 

On the UGA Budget Management System HomePage, click the BUDDEV link in the Quick Links box.

2. Step 2

In the Form Folder section, follow the navigation Forms > Salary.

Click the Salary link.

The Position Budgeting form is displayed in the Form section.

Click the Position Budgeting link.

The Position Budgeting form is displayed on the right side of the screen.

To collapse the pane on the left side of the screen and maximize your workspace, click the collapse pane arrow to the left of the Position Budgeting form.

After selecting the employee for whom you wish to apply a merit increase, right-click the Merit % cell under the Salary tab.

A pop-up menu is displayed.

Click the Merit Adjustments menu.

Here, you can adjust merit using either Merit $ Target or New Base Salary Target.

Click the Adjust % based on New Base Salary Target option.

The Runtime Prompts - Adjust Merit % based on New Salary Target dialog box is displayed.

Enter the new base salary into the Value  field.  

Example shown here: " 59000 ".

Click the Launch button.

A pop-up message confirms that the adjustment of the base salary was successful.

Click the OK button.

The information about the Merit % and the Merit Amount has been updated according to the adjusted new base salary.
