Deactivating Cage Cards

   Overview   

This activity is used when an animal is gone or moved to a different cage. Deactivating a cage card takes the card off census and the PI is no longer charged for additional care days or other costs associated with the cards that have been deactivated.

   Instructions   

  1. Step 1: Click the Cage Cards link.
  2. Step 2: Click the drop-down list next to the Filter field.
  3. Step 3: Select the filter preference from the list.
  4. Step 4: Enter appropriate information into the search field.
  5. Step 5: Click the Go button.
  6. Step 6: Click the Deactivate Cards button.
  7. Step 7: Select the cage cards you want to deactivate by selecting the checkbox next to the ID field.
  8. Step 8: You can select multiple cards to deactivate.
  9. Step 9: Click the Set deactivate date field.
  10. Step 10: Select the appropriate date from the calendar.
  11. Step 11: Click the Submit button.
  12. Step 12: The cage cards page is displayed without the deactivated a cage card(s).

In this article, you will learn the steps to deactivate a cage card in the Animal Operations Portal.

On the Animal Operations home page, click the Cage Cards link.

The Cage Cards page is displayed.

To select what type of value to search by, click the drop-down list next to the Filter field.

3. Step 3

Select the filter preference from the list.

Enter appropriate information into the search field.

With the appropriate information entered, click the Go button.

The list has been filtered to display cage cards with the entered information.

Click the Deactivate Cards button.

7. Step 7

Select the cage cards you want to deactivate by selecting the checkbox next to the ID field.

You can select multiple cards to deactivate.

9. Step 9

With the cage card(s) selected, click the Set deactivate date field.

A calendar will appear. You may enter the date manually or select from the calendar.

10. Step 10

Select the appropriate date from the calendar.

With the cage card(s) and date selected, click the Submit button.

The cage cards page is displayed without the deactivated a cage card(s).
