Entering a Chartstring Budget Amount

   Overview   

During the Budget Planning and Salary Setting process, you will key in budget amounts in the FY20 Original Budget columns.

In this article, you will learn the steps to enter a chartstring budget amount.

Note: Data has been redacted to protect employee information.

1. Step 1

First log onto https://budgets.onesource.uga.edu/

On the UGA Budget Management System HomePage, click the BUDDEV link in the Quick Links box.

The BUDDEV tab is displayed.

To perform line item budgeting activities, in the Form Folder section, use the following navigation:

Forms > Line Item > Personal Expenses > Line Item Position Expense .

Click the Line Item Position Expense link.

The relevant forms are displayed in the Form section.

Click the Casual Labor form.

The Casual Labor section is displayed on the right side of the screen.

To collapse the pane on the left side of the screen and maximize the workspace, click the Collapse Pane button to the left of the Casual Labor form.

In the FY20 Original Budget columns, you can click a cell in which you wish to enter a budget amount and type in the the target budget amount.

Enter the budget amount into the selected chartstring in the FY20 Original Budget column.

Example shown here: enter "70000" into the highlighted cell.

After you enter the budget amount into a chartstring, the cell will turn yellow.

Continue to enter the budget amount for each chartstring in the FY20 Original Budget column.

All cells with the new budget amount will be highlighted in yellow.

After entering all budget amounts, click the Save button.

A pop-up window confirms that the new data has been saved.

Click the OK button.

You can review the budget amount for each chartstring in the FY20 Original Budget column.
