You can adjust the Salary Dollars by manually entering information into that cell.
Be sure that the total Distribution Percentage equals 100% prior to the end of the Budget Planning and Salary Setting timeline. This may mean that you will need to force the line to 100%. For more information on the process, please see the tutorial Forcing a Line to 100%.
In this article, you will learn the steps to force a line to a salary dollar amount to ensure the Distribution Percentage totals 100% in the UGA Budget Management System.
First, log into the Budget Management System.
On the UGA Budget Management System HomePage, click the BUDDEV link in the Applications box.
In the Form Folder section, use the following navigation: Forms > Salary .
Click the Salary link.
The forms associated with Salary are displayed in the Form section.
Click the Position Budgeting link.
The Position Budgeting form is displayed on the right side of the screen.
To collapse the pane on the left side of the screen and maximize your workspace, click the collapse pane arrow to the left of the Position Budgeting form.
After selecting an employee, you can view the position funding information in the Funding Distribution section, organized by Time Bands and by chartstring/funding information.
Click the tab for any of the Time Bands you wish to adjust the line to a dollar amount.
Example shown here: Time Band 1 (TB1) is selected.
The total Distribution Percentage must be 100% for each Time Band prior to the end of the Budget Planning and Setting Salary timeline.
Note: You can adjust the employee's Budgeted Amount to adjust the total Distribution Percentage. In many cases, however, adjusting the salary will not bring the total % to 100%. Manual adjustment or forcing to 100% is still needed.
Right-click the appropriate Budgeted Amount cell to change the salary amount.
Example shown here: right-click the Budgeted Amount cell of the CC18140010011005 combo code.
A pop-up menu is displayed.
Click the Set Line to $ Amt link.
The Runtime Prompts - Adjust Combo Code to Set $ Amount dialog box is displayed.
Enter the correct dollar amount into the Value field.
Example shown here: "6500".
Click the Launch button.
A pop-up message confirms that setting the line dollar amount was successful.
Click the OK button.
The Budgeted Amount column is updated. The Distribution Percentage column is also updated to 100% accordingly.
Note: You may need to manually force the Distribution Percentage to 100% if it does not do so when you adjust the dollar amount.
