Applying a Supplement to a Combo Code

   Overview   

This article will show you how to apply a supplement to a combo code on a Time Band. 

After applying a supplement, you may need to force the line to 100%. The Distribution Percentage must total 100% prior to the end of the Budget Planning and Salary Setting timeline.

   Instructions   

  1. Step 1: Click the BUDDEV link in the Applications box.
  2. Step 2: Click the Salary link.
  3. Step 3: Click the Position Budgeting link.
  4. Step 4: Click the collapse pane arrow to the left of the Position Budgeting form.
  5. Step 5: Click a Time Band to which you wish to apply a supplement in the Funding Distribution section.
  6. Step 6: Right-click anywhere in the tab to open the pop-up menu.
  7. Step 7: Click the Add Distribution Line link.
  8. Step 8: Enter a combo code in the Value field or click the Member Selection icon next to the combo code field to search for a value.
  9. Step 9: Click the Launch button.
  10. Step 10: Click the OK button.
  11. Step 11: Right-click the Budgeted Amount cell of the combo code.  
  12. Step 12: Click the Apply Supplement to CC link.
  13. Step 13: Click the Launch button.
  14. Step 14: Click the OK button.
  15. Step 15: Right-click the Distribution Percentage cell of a chartstring line that should be changed to make the Time Band total 100%.
  16. Step 16: Click the Force Line to 100% Total link.
  17. Step 17: Click the OK button.

In this article, you will learn the steps to apply a supplement to a combo code in the UGA Budget Management System.

1. Step 1

First, log into the Budget Management System. 

On the UGA Budget Management System HomePage, click the BUDDEV link in the Applications box.

2. Step 2

In the Form Folder section, use the following navigation: Forms -> Salary.

Click the Salary link.

The forms associated with salary are displayed in the Form section.

Click the Position Budgeting link.

The Position Budgeting section is displayed on the right side of the screen.

To collapse the pane on the left side of the screen and maximize your workspace, click the collapse pane arrow to the left of the Position Budgeting form.

With the appropriate employee selected, click a Time Band to which you wish to apply a supplement in the Funding Distribution section.  

Example shown here: Time Band 1 (TB1) is selected.

On the tab for the selected Time Band, the combo code and chartstring information is displayed.

Right-click anywhere in the tab to open the pop-up menu.  

Example shown here: right-click the blank [..........]  combo code.

7. Step 7

A pop-up menu is displayed.

Click the Add Distribution Line link.

The Runtime Prompts - Add Distribution Line dialog box is displayed.

You can manually enter a combo code in the Value field if you have one, or you can click the Member Selection icon next to the combo code field to search for a value.

Example shown here: enter "18430010011003".

9. Step 9

Click the Launch button.

A message confirms that adding the combo code was successful.

Click the OK button.

You can see the added combo code in the selected Time Band tab.

To apply a supplement to the combo code, right-click the Budgeted Amount cell of the combo code.

A pop-up menu is displayed.

Click the Apply Supplement to CC link.

The Runtime Prompts - SalaryFormBottom Menu - Apply Supplement to CC dialog box is displayed.

Enter the supplement amount to apply to the combo code into the Value field. You can also leave the field blank to apply the full supplement amount.  

Example shown here: leave the field blank.

Click the Launch button.

A pop-up message confirms that applying the supplement to the combo code was successful.

Click the OK button.

15. Step 15

Prior to the end of the Budget Planning and Setting Salary timeline, the total Distribution Percentage must reach 100%. You may need to manually force the line to 100%.  

Example shown here: the Distribution Percentage totals 109.091%, and the total is highlighted in red. It should be changed so that the Total for the Time Band is 100%. 

Right-click the Distribution Percentage cell of a chartstring line that should be changed to make the Time Band total 100%.

16. Step 16

A pop-up menu is displayed.

Click the Force Line to 100% Total link.

A pop-up message confirms that forcing the line to 100% was successful.

Click the OK button.
