You can easily move budget to a new chartstring during budget development in the UGA Budget Management System.
To move a budget, there must be a budget in the FY2020 Original Budget column. If there is no budget assigned to the chartstring, you must first assign a budget to the chartstring.
In this article, you will learn the steps to move a chartstring to a budget.
First, log into the Budget Management System.
On the UGA Budget Management System HomePage, click the BUDDEV link in the Applications box.
The BUDDEV tab is displayed.
In the Form Folder section, use the following navigation: Forms > Line Item > NonPersonal Expenses.
Click the NonPersonal Expenses link.
The forms associated with NonPersonal Expenses are displayed in the Form section.
Click the NonPersonal Expenses form.
The NonPersonal Expenses form is displayed on the right side of the screen.
To collapse the pane on the left side of the screen and maximize your workspace, click the Collapse Pane button to the left of the NonPersonal Expenses form.
In the FY20 Original Budget column, right-click the budget cell from which you wish to move a budget.
Note: To move a budget, there must be a budget in the FY20 Original Budget column. If there is no budget assigned to the chartstring, you must first assign a budget to the chartstring.

The pop-up menu is displayed.
Click the Move to New Chartstring link.
The Runtime Prompts - Move Chartstring Value dialog box is displayed.
Note: The target chartstring values are pre-populated with the source chartstring values.
You can either type information into each field or click the icon next to any of the fields to select a value.

You can click the menus in the Alias section to expand a list of options.

You can continue to expand the tree to locate the appropriate chartfield.

Click the Add button.
The selected chartstring appears in the Alias section on the right.
Click the OK button.
You will return to the Runtime Prompts - Move Chartstring Value dialog box with the new chartfield value.
Enter the budget amount that you wish to move into the Amount to Move field, or leave it blank to move the full amount.

Click the Move button.
A pop up window confirms that the move was successful.
The updated budget and chartstring information now appears in the NonPersonal Expenses form.
