Virus Removal

Do you think your computer might have a malware infection?

Malware is short for “malicious software” and is used as a single term to refer to a virus, spyware, etc.  It is designed to harm and infect the host system.  It can be as simple as slowing your system down to locking up your computer and demanding a “ransom” to get your data back.

Just some of the signs that you may have a problem include:

  • Computer running slower than usual
  • Pop-up ads
  • Locked-up computer
  • Computer that is crashing
  • Essential programs not working
  • ……and so on.

Some tips to prevent future infection:

  • Have Anti-virus/malware software installed and up to date
  • Run regular scans with the above software
  • Keep your operating system current with security patches
  • Think before you click on links in emails
  • Avoid websites that provide pirated material
  • Lock down privacy settings on social media
  • Back up your data
  • Use multiple, strong passwords
