Important Changes to Note

1. For the foreseeable future, you will need to dial the full campus phone number for any contact after switching to Teams Phone. Otherwise you can simply search by name and quickly call any UGA person.
2. If you don't currently have a phone number, you will be assigned one for the changeover.
3. International calling costs extra.
4. In case of an emergency, please use a cell phone first and Teams Phone second. When using the Teams Phone, you may be directed to the Athens Police instead of UGA Campus Police.
5. ☎️ A handset is a device that sits on your desk and does not require a computer.
6. 🎧 A headset is a set of earphones and a built-in microphone that attaches directly to your computer.
7. A copy of any voicemail left will be available in Outlook.
8. You can customize how Teams Phone will ring on any device. Be sure to update your settings on your Teams devices (computer, cell phone...) especially if you are in a meeting.

Details

1. Chat is only available for UGA callers.
2. You can only block non-UGA numbers.
3. Contacts are synced between Teams and Outlook.
4. Call log history is available for 30 days.
5. Declining a call will not alert the caller, instead they will hear the standard number of rings and be redirected per your settings.
6. If you're not always wearing headphones, you can enable Teams Phone to ring in your headphones and on your computer.
