Managing Duo for Departmental MyIDs

Summary

How to add and remove Duo devices from a Departmental MyID account, as well as how to rename devices for easier device recognition.

Body

To manage Duo for a Departmental MyID, go to the archpass.uga.edu Duo Self-Service site.

You should see a UGA Single Sign-On login. If you do not see a UGA SSO login with a username and password field, please try in a different browser or an incognito/private browser window.

Enter the Departmental MyID and password and click Login.

Then approve the login with an existing Duo device that is attached to the Departmental MyID’s account.

Note: The Duo Desktop authentication cannot be used to log into the Duo Self-Service Portal site.

You should then see a list of devices attached to the account.

When adding or removing a device, please note that all users with Duo Mobile attached to the account will get a notice of the change as well as the Department MyID’s email. Please coordinate with other users of the account so a legitimate change is not marked fraudulent.

Adding a device

Select Add a device.

Choose the Duo method you want to set up. Do not select the Phone number option as this method is going away on Nov. 5, 2026, and you won’t be able to log into your services without a different method on that date.

Follow the steps for enrolling your chosen method. For specifics, please check the article for your chosen method from the Enrolling in ArchPass page.

When enrollment is complete, all users with Duo Mobile attached to the account will get a notification of the addition and the Departmental MyID’s inbox will receive an email notice.  Please coordinate with other users of the account so a legitimate change is not marked fraudulent.

Removing Duo Desktop

If you need to remove a Duo Desktop connection from the account, an owner of the Departmental MyID will need to contact the EITS Help Desk at 706-542-3106. The EITS Help Desk will be able to verify the owner and remove the Duo Desktop from the account.

Renaming a Device

Find the device you want to rename in the list and select Edit. Then click Rename.

Renaming a device can be helpful to know what device to select when logging in, or for knowing what devices to modify when someone leaves or changes positions and won’t be accessing the account anymore.
