How to Log in with Platform Authenticators

How to use platform authenticators (Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, Android biometrics) for Duo authentication.

Please Note: Platform authenticators only work while logging in on the device that it was registered with. For example, you cannot use Android Biometrics (fingerprint or face scan) to log in on a computer; it can only be used for logins on the Android device. 

• Touch ID on MacOS
• Face ID or Touch ID
• Windows Hello
• Android Biometrics

Touch ID on MacOS

Select Touch ID from the list of authentication options.

Click Continue on the Use Touch ID screen.

Scan your fingerprint when prompted by Mac Passwords.

Face ID or Touch ID

Select Face ID/Touch ID from the Other options authentication list.

Click Continue on the Use Face ID / Touch ID screen.

Tap Use Passkey.

Scan your face or fingerprints.

Windows Hello

Select Windows Hello from the Other options authentication list.

Duo will prompt a Windows Security popup to ask you for PIN/Face/Fingerprint with Windows Hello. Enter PIN or scan your biometrics as prompted.

Android Biometrics

Select Device Verification from the Other options authentication list.

Duo will prompt your Android for biometric scan. Scan your fingerprint or face.
