Note: To access a Claude Enterprise for Education account, you must be enrolled in the Premium AI License Program for Claude Enterprise for Education and have received a welcome e-mail from Anthropic. If you are enrolled in the program and have not received a welcome email, please contact the AI Tools Team (ai-tools@uga.edu) for further assistance. Claude Enterprise for Education gives users with existing personal accounts linked to a UGA email (MyID@uga.edu) two options for setting up a new account.
- Create two separate accounts under your UGA email.
- Export your data, delete your existing account and create a new account in UGA's Claude Enterprise for Education Workspace.
Before you begin
If there are any chats from your existing account you want to keep, save them elsewhere. Some account types support merging, but others do not. Saving the chats elsewhere will ensure they are not lost in the new account creation process.
Recommended methods:
- Copy and paste key threads into a separate document and save them individually. When your account is set up, you can upload these documents into your Claude Enterprise for Education account and ask Claude to remember them.
- Your account type may have access to the export your data feature.
How to join the UGA Claude Enterprise for Education workspace (existing @uga.edu accounts)
Make sure you are logged out of any other Claude accounts.
Once you have been enrolled in the Premium AI License Program for Claude Enterprise for Education, you will receive a welcome email from Anthropic to your UGA email.
Click Accept Invitation in the welcome email.
You will be redirected to the Claude website and you should be signed in automatically once you accept the invitation.
If you are redirected to a log in screen, select Sign in with Google with your MyID@uga.edu. Follow the prompts and you should be redirected to UGA's Single Sign-On page, where you can log in with your MyID and password.
You will be asked to verify you are at least 18 years old.
You will be prompted to set up your profile, where you can choose what you would like to be called.
If the account has been set up correctly, University of Georgia should appear above the prompt window. You are now ready to start using Claude Enterprise for Education.
