EITS offers two Respondus products
- Respondus – Exam Creation: Available to faculty, staff and IT professionals. Used to create exams, quizzes and surveys.
- Respondus LockDown Browser: Available for students, faculty, staff and IT professionals. Used to lock down an environment for testing.
What is Respondus LockDown Browser?
Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down testing environments within eLearning Commons (eLC).
When students use Respondus LockDown Brower, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. Once an assessment begins, students are locked into the assessment until they submit it for grading.
Respondus LockDown Browser is available for both Windows and macOS.
How do I access Respondus LockDown Browser?
Students obtain access to Respondus LockDown Browser through their eLC courses. For more information on using Respondus, visit the Technical Support page.
IT professionals can request a Lockdown Browser installer for lab computers by submitting a Respondus Products Support Request.
How do faculty and staff access Respondus - Exam Creation?
Download the software. You will be asked to sign in with your MyID and password.
Request a new license or renew your license through our New or Renewal Respondus Exam Creation License Request.
How do I choose a Course Management System (CSM) Personality?
Immediately after the Respondus software is activated, you will be prompted to select a Course Management System (CMS) "personality." Select the "Desire2Learn" personality of Respondus. You can always change the "personality" on the Start menu.
Where do I get support?
More information can be found on the Respondus Support page or eLC Help website. Submit a Respondus Products Support Request if you need additional assistance.
