Introduction
Recall is a Windows feature that was designed by Microsoft to allow users to easily retrieve previously accessed content on their computer. This feature captures screenshots as the screen contents change, and analyzes them using AI technology on Copilot+ PCs. See the following Microsoft article for more information about Recall: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/retrace-your-steps-with-recall-aa03f8a0-a78b-4b3e-b0a1-2eb8ac48701c
Although Microsoft has taken steps to improve the privacy and security of this feature, IT administrators may still wish to disable it for their end users. The following section outlines the process of disabling Recall with Intune.
Procedure
1. Navigate to Devices → Windows → Configuration Profiles and create a new policy with the platform set to Windows 10 and later and the profile type set to Templates.

2. Select Custom for the template and click Create.

3. After entering a name and description of the policy, click on Add under Configuration settings

4. Configure the settings as follows. The OMA-URI is
./User/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/WindowsAI/DisableAIDataAnalysis

5. Ensure that your scope tag is selected and assign the policy to your device group(s).
6. Configure the following applicability rule. This rule excludes the policy from being applied to versions of Windows prior to Windows 11 24H2, since Recall is not available for those versions.

7. Review and create the policy.
