Modifying a Position - Updating Supervisor Information

In this article, you will learn the steps to modify an already created position in the UGAJobs system.

   Overview   

You can modify already-created position descriptions in UGAJobs.  Reasons for modifying a position include:

  • Changing position status (active/inactive)
  • Change Major Unit
  • Change Department
  • Change Location
  • Replacement of Employee
  • Replacement of Supervisor

In this article, you will learn the steps to modify an already created position in the UGAJobs system. You will update the supervisor for a position.

1. Step 1

First, log into UGAJobs.

In the UGAJobs Positions module, click the Position Descriptions drop-down list.

Select the type of position you want to modify.

Example shown here: Staff link.

The Staff Position Descriptions page is displayed.

Enter appropriate information into the Search Keyword field to locate the position you want to modify.

With the appropriate information entered, click the Search button.

The requested result is displayed.

Click the appropriate link.

Example shown here: the Working Title for the FACULTY AFFAIRS SPEC III position.

The position description for the specific position is displayed.

Click the Modify Position Description link.

After reading the notice, click the Start button to start modifying the specific position description.

The Position Justification page is displayed.

Check the appropriate box to indicate Reason for Position Update.

Enter appropriate information into the Justification of Need field.

Example shown here: "Replace supervisor" into the Justification of Need field.

Click the Next >> button.

The Classification page is displayed.

Once you have reviewed the Classification Details, click the Next >> button.

The Position Details page is displayed. This page details information about the current seated employee for that position.

Once you have reviewed the information, click the Next >> button.

The Duties/Responsibilities page is displayed.

After reviewing, click the Next >> button.

The Position Number page is displayed.

Enter appropriate information into the PeopleSoft Supervisor Position Number field.

With the appropriate information entered, click the Save button.

Click the Next >> button.

The Position Supervisor page is displayed .

Once you have reviewed all the information on this page, click the Next >> button.

Scroll down and click the Filter these results link.

The Search Position Descriptions window is displayed.

Enter appropriate information into the Search Keyword field.

Click the Search button.
