How to Map a Network Drive on Mac

What is Mapping a Network Drive?

Mapping a network drive creates a shortcut from your computer to a shared folder on another computer or server, allowing you to access files stored there as if they were on your local hard drive.

Steps:

1)  First open Finder and press either Command+K or Go > Connect to Server.

2)  Next, enter the path of the network drive you are trying to map. For example, "smb://192.168.1.300/shared/Files" and click Connect.

The formatting is smb://server/share. The server is the IP Address of the server or hostname, and the share is the folder name of the shared folder.

3)  Lastly, enter your login credential's if prompted after clicking Connect and click OK to mount the network drive. (Make sure when signing in you add "myid\" infront of your myid if credentials are asked for.)
